Hospital Visiting Hours
Family and friends are welcome to visit between 11:00 am and 8:00 pm daily.

Fees and Charges
Some services that you may be charged for whilst at SPORTSMED·SA Hospital include:
Assistant
You may receive an account for the surgeon’s assistant. This will be partly covered by Medicare.
Anaesthetist
While Medicare covers some of the charges for anaesthetists, you may be required to pay a gap. Please contact your anaesthetist directly prior to your surgery for more information.
Physiotherapy
For an effective start to rehabilitation, patients receive physiotherapy shortly after their surgery. The cost of this will depend on the number of physiotherapy visits you receive and type of cover you have with your health fund.
X-Rays
You may be required to pay a gap for medical imaging during hospitalisation.
Pathology
If any tests are required you may receive an account. These charges are mostly covered by Medicare and health insurance.
Prostheses
If you require prostheses such as pins, screws or a replacement joint during your surgery, you may be required to pay for these on admission.
Crutches or Home Aids
Upon leaving hospital you may need crutches or home aids such as a toilet raiser. Your surgeon and/or the hospital staff will discuss your requirements and the cost of hiring or purchasing this equipment.
Splints or Braces
You may require a splint or brace following your operation. Your surgeon and/ or the hospital staff will discuss this with you prior to discharge. Payment for any such equipment is required on discharge. Please note, splints and braces are not returnable.
Pharmacy
Any new medications ordered and administered whilst in hospital are included in your hospital fee. Medications that you may need after discharge will be arranged prior to leaving, with an account sent directly to you.
